Customs & Duties

International customers — please read

If you are ordering from outside the country where your order is fulfilled, your package may be subject to customs duties, VAT, import taxes, or carrier handling fees that are not included in your checkout price. These charges are your responsibility.

What Are Customs Duties and Import Fees?

Customs duties and import taxes are fees levied by the destination country's government on goods arriving from abroad. They vary by country, product category, and declared value. In addition to government-levied duties, some carriers charge brokerage or administrative handling fees for clearing packages through customs.

Who Collects These Fees?

These fees are typically collected by your country's customs agency, postal service, or the carrier delivering your package — not by SODATERU or Printful. We do not receive these payments.

Printful fulfils orders from facilities in multiple countries. Even when shipped from a nearby facility, customs may apply depending on your country's import rules and the declared value of your order.

Can You Tell Me How Much I Will Owe?

No. Customs charges vary by country, product classification, declared value, and applicable trade agreements. They are assessed by the destination country, not by us, and are not predictable in advance. We recommend checking your country's customs authority website for guidance on import thresholds and duty rates.

VAT and GST

Some countries (including EU member states and the UK) apply VAT or GST on imported goods. In some cases, Printful may collect and remit VAT automatically on orders shipped from facilities within those regions. In other cases, VAT may be assessed at the border.

We cannot guarantee which applies to your specific order. If VAT is assessed at delivery, it is your responsibility.

DDP — Delivered Duty Paid

For some shipping routes and regions, Printful offers DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping options where duties and taxes are collected and remitted at checkout. When available, these options will be shown at checkout. DDP routes currently available include select Canada and UK destinations depending on fulfilment origin. This is not available on all routes.

What Happens If I Refuse to Pay Customs Fees?

If you refuse to pay customs or import fees, your package may be:

  • Held by customs until payment is made
  • Returned to the sender (which may take weeks and incur return shipping costs)
  • Abandoned at customs
  • Destroyed by customs authorities

These outcomes are outside SODATERU's control. We are not responsible for orders lost or destroyed due to non-payment of customs fees and cannot offer refunds in these cases.

Questions

Contact us at hello@sodateru.shop if you have questions about your order and customs. We will share what information we have from Printful, but we cannot predict or guarantee customs outcomes.
